POSITION OVERVIEW:
A private household based in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Traveling Housekeeper to join an established housekeeping team. The ideal candidate is professional, discreet, and accustomed to working in high-end private homes. This role requires flexibility and the ability to travel with the family to secondary residences in Miami and The Hamptons, maintaining the same high standards of care and presentation across all properties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Housekeeping & Laundry
Perform daily housekeeping to a high standard, including cleaning, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
Care for fine furnishings, artwork, stone, and specialty surfaces using appropriate methods and products.
Bed making, linen care, and wardrobe organization.
Laundry and ironing, including delicate fabrics and high-end garments when required.
Maintain closets, storage areas, and housekeeping inventories in an orderly manner.
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff and household team members to ensure seamless daily operations.
Follow established housekeeping schedules, checklists, and service standards.
Communicate with the House Manager or Estate Manager regarding supplies, maintenance issues, or special requests.
Travel & Seasonal Residence Support
Travel with the household to Miami and The Hamptons as scheduled.
Prepare guest rooms and common areas before arrivals.
Ensure residences remain guest-ready at all times.
Assist with light household support related to entertaining preparation as requested.
Standards & Discretion
Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Follow household protocols and presentation standards, including uniform requirements.
Proactively notice and address details to maintain a pristine environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. work authorization.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a formal private home, luxury hotel, or similar environment.
Experience working as part of a housekeeping team.
Ability to travel regularly and maintain a flexible schedule when principals are in residence.
Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
Professional demeanor, reliability, and discretion.
Legal authorization to work in the United States and valid identification for travel.
