POSITION OVERVIEW:
A warm, active family in McLean seeks a nurturing and dependable Family Assistant / Mother’s Helper to support after-school and evening routines for three school-aged children (ages 12, 10, and 7). The ideal candidate is engaging, organized, and proactive, comfortable helping with children’s activities, household flow, and family errands. Comfort around a friendly family dog and flexibility for occasional overnights are required. This position is perfect for someone transitioning from babysitting into a full-time family assistant role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Childcare & Family Support
Provide attentive and caring supervision for three children after school and during evenings.
Assist with homework, school projects, and reading.
Transport children to extracurricular activities, playdates, and appointments.
Prepare and serve healthy snacks and simple dinners for the children.
Support evening routines including baths, tidying up, and bedtime preparation.
Engage children in creative, active, and age-appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors.
Household Assistance
Maintain general tidiness of children’s areas (bedrooms, playrooms, and kitchen after meals).
Help with children’s laundry and light household organization.
Assist with family errands, school bag preparation, and restocking children’s supplies.
Provide light pet care (feeding, short walks, and letting the dog out).
Additional Duties
Offer occasional overnight care with advance notice.
Collaborate with parents to maintain consistency in routines and discipline.
Ensure a safe, positive, and nurturing environment at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience caring for multiple school-aged children.

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Assistant / Special Needs Child
Caregiver. This person is responsible for providing 1:1 support and supervision to an 8 yr old Intellectually
Disabled and Non-Verbal boy during the afternoons and occasional weekend. (Live-in optional with dedicated suite in home).
Key Responsibilities:
Child Caregiver Support (Afternoons):
∙ Provide 1-on-1 care and supervision for 8 yr old boy during hours of 4pm-8pm.
∙ Develop and facilitate routines that reinforce learning of new skills. Specific attention to
to music, assistive communications device (AAC), and potty training.
∙ As needed, provide transportation to/from therapy or other external locations.
∙ Assist in transitions for dinner and bedtime routines.
∙ Collaborate with Mother as needed for hand-offs and shared tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements:
∙ High school diploma/GED required.
∙ Three or more years of experience providing education or support to special needs
children.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
∙ Knowledge of child education and childcare
∙ Calm, playful, and patient demeanor
∙ Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
∙ Strong organizational skills.

Caregiver for 90+ Female (Maryland)

The client is seeking a compassionate caregiver to complete a team of three caregivers for a woman in her 90s. We have supported this client for many years and highly recommend this position.
Primary Responsibilities
Personal Care
Provide grooming and daily living assistance for an elderly (90+) female.
Safety
Maintain a safe environment to support mobility and reduce fall risks in the home and during outings.
Medical Support
Assist the onsite supervisor with scheduling and attending medical appointments.
Provide medication reminders and ensure prescriptions are taken as directed.
Travel
Drive the client using a company vehicle to medical appointments and social events.
Travel with the client to ensure smooth check-in processes, wheelchair needs, and general assistance.
Occasional extended travel may be required; a valid passport is necessary.
Other Duties
Assist with managing and reviewing the client’s social calendar.
Prepare light meals.
Perform light housekeeping.
Run errands as needed.
Offer companionship when desired.
Attend training sessions related to specialized areas of care.
Provide minimal pet care for a small household dog.
Maintain consistent communication with the supervisor regarding all work-related matters, including providing at least 30 days’ notice for leave requests.
Typical Work Hours
Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM (includes bathing and dressing)
Night Shift: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM (covered by 3–4 caregivers)
Flexibility to extend shifts when needed is required.
Qualifications
GED required.
Active and maintained CNA/GNA state licenses.
Five years of experience as a caregiver in a hospital, nursing home, or private home environment, specifically working with elderly individuals and age-related illnesses.
Emergency preparedness knowledge.
Must be vaccinated against COVID and comply with CDC-recommended vaccines for elder care providers.
Must be conscientious, organized, and able to multitask effectively.
Strong work ethic and a team-oriented mindset.
Ability to maintain a positive and supportive environment.
Reliable transportation.
Adaptability and willingness to help with additional duties as needed.
