Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Assistant / Special Needs Child

Caregiver. This person is responsible for providing 1:1 support and supervision to an 8 yr old Intellectually

Disabled and Non-Verbal boy during the afternoons and occasional weekend. (Live-in optional with dedicated suite in home).

Key Responsibilities:

Child Caregiver Support (Afternoons):

∙ Provide 1-on-1 care and supervision for 8 yr old boy during hours of 4pm-8pm.

∙ Develop and facilitate routines that reinforce learning of new skills. Specific attention to

to music, assistive communications device (AAC), and potty training.

∙ As needed, provide transportation to/from therapy or other external locations.

∙ Assist in transitions for dinner and bedtime routines.

∙ Collaborate with Mother as needed for hand-offs and shared tasks.

Qualifications & Requirements:

∙ High school diploma/GED required.

∙ Three or more years of experience providing education or support to special needs

children.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

∙ Knowledge of child education and childcare

∙ Calm, playful, and patient demeanor

∙ Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

∙ Strong organizational skills.

∙ Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evening or weekend availability.

∙ Incumbent must have a valid driver's license in order to perform transportation as

needed. If personal car is utilized, Gas and Mileage reimbursed.

∙ Background in special education, speech, behavioral therapy, or occupational therapy is a plus, but

not required

• Some over nights and occasional weekends

About Child:

Child (Trip) is a happy and lovable 8 yr old boy with a rare genetic disability that affects his

learning ability, communication, and emotional regulation. He is mobile and can both walk and

run. He loves music, playing trains, and travel on boats, airplanes, and cars.

If the applicant chooses to live in:

• Food provided

• Furnished accommodation

• Car (if needed), gas reimbursement if you use your own vehicle

• 40 hours per week (Some occassional overnights)

• Vacation 20 days (negotiable)

• Paid holidays

• Salary $85k NEG

A busy Washington, DC, Principal seeks an experienced and polished Executive Personal Assistant (EPA) with Property Management experience to serve as her key point of contact in anticipating and executing her residential oversight, personal service needs, and real-time requests.
